We Serve North Dallas & Collin County
Wellott Electric is a family-owned electrical contractor proudly serving homeowners across the Greater North Texas area. Owners Ryan and Megan Wellott built this company on a simple promise: do the work right, treat people fairly, and leave every home safer than we found it. Our licensed electricians (TECL 37215) handle everything from a single ceiling fan replacement to wiring a brand-new custom home from the ground up.

That’s how we’ve earned over 450 five-star Google reviews and the trust of homeowners across McKinney, Allen, Frisco, Prosper, Sherman, and the surrounding communities.

Meet Ryan and Megan Wellott
Wellott Electric is owned and operated by Ryan and Megan Wellott, who started the company on the belief that a North Texas family should never feel talked down to by the electrician working in their home. Ryan is a licensed master electrician. He runs the field side of the business, oversees every job estimate, and personally trains every electrician on the team. Megan runs operations, scheduling, and customer experience. The two of them built the 30-minute call or text ahead.
Every service call begins with a $59 dispatch fee. Once on-site, our technician will evaluate the issue and provide transparent pricing before any work begins.
Schedule online, email scheduling@wellottelectric.com, or call (972) 214-8614. Same-day response for emergencies.

Clear written price before any work starts. You decide.
Many service calls can be completed the same day, while larger projects are scheduled promptly based on scope and availability.
Every Wellott Electric job follows the same pricing pattern, whether it’s a single ceiling fan or wiring a custom new-construction home.
Poor lighting can impact comfort, functionality, and your home’s overall appearance. Whether you’re upgrading to energy-efficient LED lighting, adding recessed lighting during a remodel, or enhancing curb appeal with outdoor lighting, our team delivers customized solutions for every space.
We help you select the ideal fixtures and provide precise installations that improve both style and performance throughout your home.
Wellott Electric is based at 403 Power House St, STE 308 in McKinney, just off US-75 and FM-546. We serve homeowners across three counties in the Greater North Texas area. Primary cities we serve:
Yes. Wellott Electric operates under Texas Electrical Contractor License TECL 37215, and every electrician on our team is fully licensed and insured. We carry general liability and workers’ compensation coverage on every job, residential or new-construction.
We serve McKinney, Allen, Frisco, Prosper, Sherman, Melissa, Anna, Van Alstyne, Princeton, Fairview, and many other cities across Collin, Grayson, Fannin, and Hunt Counties. If your address is anywhere in North Texas, give us a call, and we’ll let you know if we cover it.
Yes. We’re available for emergency calls 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Standard appointments run Monday through Thursday, 8 am to 5 pm, and Friday, 8 am to 4 pm. For urgent issues outside those hours, call (972) 214-8614, and a team member will respond.
Panel upgrade pricing depends on amperage, panel brand, and whether a permit and meter coordination with the power company is required. Most residential panel upgrades in McKinney fall in a typical range, but every job gets a written, transparent estimate before any work begins. No surprises, no hidden fees.
Absolutely. We install Level 2 home EV chargers compatible with Tesla, Ford, Rivian, Chevy, and every major EV brand. Most installations include a dedicated 240V circuit, NEMA 14-50 outlet, or hardwired connection, and any panel work needed to support the new load.
Yes. Wellott Electric is a fully authorized Generac dealer, which means we handle sales, sizing, installation, and ongoing service all in-house. You can browse Generac models and request a quote at our dedicated Generac site, generac.wellottelectric.com.
A breaker that trips once is doing its job. A breaker that trips repeatedly usually means an overloaded circuit, a faulty appliance, a short circuit, or a worn breaker that needs replacement. Don’t keep resetting it; call us to diagnose the cause before it becomes a fire risk.
Installation time can vary depending on your electrical panel setup and the home’s wiring configuration. Our electrician installs the surge protector at the main panel, connects it properly to the system, and tests everything on-site to ensure your home’s electronics are protected.
Yes. New construction is a core part of what we do. We wire custom homes, barndominiums, barns, shops, and she-sheds across North Texas from rough-in through final trim. We work directly with builders and owner-builders, and we coordinate inspections.
Three ways: book online through our scheduling page, email scheduling@wellottelectric.com, or call (972) 214-8614. We can usually schedule within the same week for standard work, and same-day for emergencies. You’ll get a 4-hour arrival window and a 30-minute heads-up call before we arrive.
